Jeep Earns Automotive Difference Maker Award

Automotive Difference Maker award

Every year, The Detroit Free Press gives out the prestigious “Automotive Difference Maker” award. And this publication knows what it’s talking about when it comes to cars. This year, Jeep won the Automotive Difference Maker award.

So why did Jeep take home this honor? Well part of it is because of its impressive sales numbers from this past year. The Detroit Free Press wrote, “Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ recovery from Chapter 11 bankruptcy simply would not have been possible without the rapid global expansion of the Jeep brand.”

FCA has a lot of reasons to thank Jeep. More than 1.2 million Jeep SUVs were sold worldwide in 2015, making it the fourth consecutive year that the brand sold the most vehicles in its history, and its sixth consecutive year of sales increases.

But that’s not the only reason why Jeep won the award; it’s also because of its redesigned Grand Cherokee and brand-new Renegade.

Congratulations, Jeep! Come down to Sierra Motors to test drive a Jeep today to check out what it’s all about.

Tips to Avoid Car Sickness

Tips to avoid car sickness

Road trips can be fun, but many people tend to get nauseous when riding in the car for an extended period of time. If you have a road trip coming up, don’t worry, because we have listed below some tips to avoid car sickness:

  1. Watch your food and drink consumption – If you drink excessive alcohol and foods or liquids, they can worsen motion sickness or even cause it.
  2. Sit in the front seat – Make sure you call “shotgun” because often, motion sickness is caused by a mismatch between what your eyes are seeing and how your body is interpreting the motion of the vehicle.
  3. Avoid reading – Reading, though it’s a good time-consumer during a road trip, can make you more nauseous.
  4. Crack the car window – Fresh air helps alleviate car sickness and reduce any food odors in the car.
  5. Stabilize your head – Try to lean your head against the headrest to keep it still, or use a neck pillow.
  6. Medication and wrist bands – If your motion sickness is uncontrollable, you can get a prescription from your doctor or get a motion sickness wrist band, which puts pressure on a specific spot on your wrist to prevent nausea.
