First Look at the New 2018 Jeep Wrangler

For decades, the Jeep Wrangler has been an iconic vehicle option that promises to put the fun in driving. Its classic Jeep off-roading capabilities combined with its timeless design and the removable top options make the Wrangler the number one pick for those looking to get closer to nature. The newest upcoming model, the 2018 Jeep Wrangler, promises some compelling updates in addition to the traditional SUV America has grown to love.

The 2018 Jeep Wrangler looks to expand on the already classic 2017 Wrangler model pictured above.

For one thing, spy shots of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler seem to show that this new version will feature multiple roof options. The four-door Wrangler is said to be a three-piece hard top, where the roof panels are removable in separate chunks for versatile, open-air driving. Another rumor suggests that the 2018 Wrangler will offer a hybrid version. Jeep also seems to be looking into equipping the newest Wranglers with more autonomous features to aide in safety, plus even better handling and off-roading capabilities. The future of Jeep also promises a pickup version of the Wrangler, but this unique option won’t hit the market for another couple of years.

Even without that pickup version available, the 2018 Jeep Wrangler sure sounds like an exciting update to a favorite classic. We look forward to having some in stock at Sierra CDJR and offering you one of the first test drives in this new SUV.

Breaking Out of 2016: 2017 Jeep Renegade

2017 Jeep Renegade

It’s time to say goodbye to 2016 and hello to 2017. If you want to start off the New Year with a blank slate, why not do so in one of the newest models from Jeep? The 2017 Jeep Renegade has the off-road capabilities that will help you let off some steam in the new year, while still offering an on-road style that can’t be ignored.

For 2017, the Renegade subcompact SUV continues to stand out from the competition. It has an off-road equipment package that truly leaves other subcompacts in the dust, taking on rough terrain with ease. Add the fact that it has a low starting price tag, coming in around $17,995, the Renegade continues to impress.

There are a number of standard features that will make your drive better, whether it is on or off road. These include cloth upholstery, a USB port, and push-button start. Available features are numerous and include a heated steering wheel, heated mirrors, and two unique removable sunroofs. These features all make heading on a road trip or an adventure off the beaten path even more appealing.

The Jeep Renegade is the perfect vehicle to help you get off on the right foot in 2017. If you are interested in learning more about this model, stop in to Sierra Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram for a test drive.

Car and Driver Gets a 2017 Wrangler Sneak Peek

Wrangler sneak peek

The Jeep Wrangler is an iconic and legendary mainstay of the automobile market, and it will probably also have a place in the industry thanks to its niche appeal to a cult following. However, insiders question its ability to stay up to date due to an exterior design that increasingly relies on nostalgia, as well as fuel economy numbers that are slowly falling behind the competition. Hopefully, Car and Driver’s Wrangler sneak peek at the new 2017 model will clear up some concerns.

Longtime Jeep fans won’t have to fear the possibility of their beloved Wrangler conforming to more modern design cues, retaining the rugged body-on-frame construction they know and love. However, it does sport a lighter and stronger frame, and parts of the body are rumored to be made from aluminum for an even more dramatic weight loss.

A glimpse at the underside of the 2017 Wrangler unveiled more changes, such as a new suspension and new axles. Car and Driver didn’t get any information on the engine lineup, but they speculate that a diesel engine could eventually make its way under the Wrangler’s hood.

Overall, the Wrangler sneak peek gave us a shot at seeing some of the exterior differences present between the current and upcoming models of the famous nameplate. Whether or not these will make a difference in the specs remains to be seen.

Five Best Midwest Off-Roading Parks for Jeep Owners

Best Midwest off-roading

The Midwest is full of great adventures. That’s why we’ve tried to compile a list of the best Midwest off-roading parks so you can choose your next big journey off the beaten path.

Badlands Off Road Park

Attica, Indiana offers a number of different terrain options in the Badlands, ranging from sand to mud to rocks and more. A campground is provided on the park’s 700 acres of land.

Coal Creek OHV Area

Imagine being in the middle of 72,000 acres of wilderness. That’s where you’ll be at Coal Creek, which offers year-round off-roading fun on 160 miles of trail.

Hannibal Rocks

While the park itself is only 70 acres, the big draw of Hannibal Rocks—located in Hannibal, Missouri—is how often it has big social events for off-roaders.

Silver Lake Sand Dunes State Park

This is possibly the easiest option on the list due to the fact that it’s all sand. It’s a fun option for drivers looking just for a single day of fun, or for nice views of the nearby Lake Michigan.

Superlift ORV Park

Located in Hot Springs, Arkansas, this park covers 1,250 acres of land and offers RV campsites. A big perk is that all trails are marked with a difficulty level ranging from Level 1 to Level 5.

This list of the best Midwest off-roading parks isn’t comprehensive, so make sure to look into any number of other fun off-roading areas near you to get the most out of your Jeep!

Two New Special-Edition Jeeps Introduced at Los Angeles Auto Show

new special-edition Jeeps

There are a few special editions coming to the Jeep line-up soon.

Two new special-edition Jeeps were introduced at the Los Angeles Auto Show that, unusually, aren’t going to be just for show.

The first is the 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Night, which has been blacked out in just about every detail, including the roof, rear spoiler, pillars, window surrounds, and front grille bezels. The interior is all in black as well with silver stitching on the black leather seats to add a bit of contrast. Still, Jeep is letting you have it in either deep red, dark gray, or silver.

The second is the 2016 Jeep Wrangler Backcountry, based on the Wrangler Sahara and Rubicon. Though it features a special off-road front bumper, a powder-coated rear bumper, and fancy 17-inch wheels, most of the changes can be found inside: piano-black trim, vinyl accents, leather and mesh seats, and a nine-speaker Alpine sound system ramp up the luxury feel.

The special-edition Wrangler became available at Sierra Motors Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram at the end of last month and the Grand Cherokee SRT Night will be available early next year.

Jeep Wrangler Red Rock Concept Inspired by Easter Jeep Safari Event

Jeep Wrangler Red Rock Concept

There have been many great Jeep models made over the years, but the Jeep Wrangler Red Rock concept may be the best yet!

There may be no larger celebration of all things Jeep than the annual Easter Jeep Safari event, held every year in Moab. In 2016, the event will celebrate its 50th anniversary, and has unveiled the Jeep Wrangler Red Rock concept in celebration at this year’s SEMA. The rough and rugged concept takes its inspiration directly from Moab’s fascinating red rock landscapes.

Bold, intimidating, and capable, the Jeep Wrangler Red Rock concept is based on the already hardcore Hard Rock Wrangler Rubicon, but adds even more aftermarket parts, both from Mopar and other companies, to create the roughest, toughest, and most capable rock-climbing Jeep yet.

According to gizmag.com, some of those additions include 35-inch BF Goodrich KO2 all-terrain tires, a two-inch lift, LED headlamps, a Warn Rubicon winch, a set of 17-inch beadlock wheels, a Jeep-branded CB radio, front and rear differential covers, and a custom interior finish with Amaretto Brown leather and silver stitching.

“The annual Easter Jeep Safari remains one of the most significant events on any Jeep enthusiast’s calendar. We’re extremely grateful to the Red Rock 4-Wheelers for continuing this iconic Jeep event, and we present our Wrangler Red Rock Concept as a tribute to them and the enthusiasts who attend the annual Jeep Safari and support our brand,” stated Mike Manley, Head of the Jeep Brand.

Jeep will produce just 50 units of the Jeep Wrangler Red Rock, which will become available to some very lucky buyers next year. Stop by Sierra Motors Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram to learn more, and to test drive any of our exciting and capable Jeep vehicles!
